Dawn Sharrock is a devoted mother and community leader, having served as a member of the Middle Country Central School District’s board since 2016. Dawn serves as Chair of the Middle Country Legislative/Community Outreach Committee, where she works hand in hand with elected officials in a non-partisan co-operative way to better serve the community. During her time on the board, Dawn has partnered with elected officials on behalf of students and the community. The safety of our children has been and continues to be a key priority for Dawn. Dawn has fought successfully to close loopholes that left schools vulnerable. Dawn helped secure the passage of legislation that placed cameras on school bus stop signs. This legislation has helped to protect the lives of thousands of Suffolk County children.
Dawn and her husband, Ronald, a longtime union steamfitter, have lived in Selden for two decades, raising two wonderful daughters who both attend Middle Country schools. As a mother, Dawn wants what all parents do for their children, a safe and nurturing community where they can thrive. Ensuring our area remains a wonderful place to start a family is why Dawn entered into public service, and she will fight to make sure the future is bright for our next generation. With years of public service and volunteering behind her, Dawn is looking forward to representing the residents of our district by being your voice in the Suffolk County Legislature.
